Original editorial analysis

SEO and GEO share a foundation: useful, verifiable answers.

A practical approach to search and AI discovery through original answers, crawlable pages, clear entities and measured outcomes.

The short answer

GEO is useful shorthand for visibility in generative discovery. It does not replace the work of making a page accessible, accurate and useful to its reader.

Begin with the page a person can use

A service page should make the service understandable without asking a reader to decode agency language. Name the provider, explain the problem, describe the actual scope and offer evidence. Put the important explanation into accessible page text, not only an image or a video.

For a local business, accurate service areas and relevant working examples help a person assess fit. A location label alone cannot create local experience or prove that customers there have received results.

What Google says about its AI features

Google’s published guidance says the established practices for SEO remain relevant to AI features in Search. It does not describe a special optimization requirement for inclusion. Our practical reading is to improve the same accessible, useful page a visitor would want to find.

Other discovery products have their own behavior. Treat visibility in each as an observed result, with the query, date and source recorded. Do not label a page “AI ranked” because it contains a special text file or a large block of keywords.

Make the entities and evidence clear

Keep the host business, its builder and its operating partner distinct. A publication can credit Lead Franchise for its website development role and explain AIS Empire’s AI employee offer without pretending all three organizations are interchangeable.

Use short answer sections followed by explanation, examples and source links. Structured data should describe the visible page: an article has its actual author and publication date, while a service explanation identifies its real provider.

  • One self-canonical URL for the original page.
  • A unique title and useful description.
  • Readable headings and contextual internal links.
  • Source-backed facts and honest image captions.

Publishing more pages needs more substance

A builder credit can become useful when it explains a real project: the audience, original problem, delivered interface and measured or unmeasured outcome. Repeating the same promotional text on dozens of domains adds little information for a reader.

Google warns that generating many pages without added user value may violate its scaled-content policy. A portfolio resource should therefore contain its own case, context and practical answer. Editorial reporting and a disclosed partner invitation have different purposes and should remain recognizable.

Measure visibility and commercial progress separately

Search impressions, visits, referred inquiries and paid work are different events. They can be connected through consistent source records, but none should be substituted for the next.

Record what the available data can show. An unavailable visibility report is unavailable, not zero. A manual citation check is an observation, not a complete market share statistic or a promise of future leads.
